Overview:
American Relocation Alliance came to WikiSoftPeople looking for help creating an Intranet Portal that would help them locate their members by address and by office name.

After discussing their needs we realized that a Google Maps Integration would probably be the most efficient way of achieving what they were looking for.

There needed to be two layers for this search. A regular user level for their employees and an admin level. These different layers needed to be password protected.

A demonstration is available here here. Simply enter the demo username and password below the login box on the next page and you will be taken to a demonstration of the system.
To try it out enter an address and set the radius of your search and you will see all the agents in the surrounding area.
You can also search by the office name or the user name. Seeing how you do not know any of the offices or users, you can enter a letter and the system will return all the users or offices who have that letter for demonstration purposes. Click on the results in the left hand box and you will get more information on the markers on the map.

Conclusion

This was an extremely quick and easy implementation to achieve what American Relocation was looking for with the help of the Google Maps API. This product can also very easily be turned into a dealer locator. If you have many offices and storefronts and want people to be able to type in their address to find which one is nearest them it can be done similarly.
