The Beat Museum
Project Date: June, 2003
Overview:
Jerry Cimino is the owner of a museum called The Beat Museum. We met him in Monterey Bay California where his museum was first taking off. When people first hear of the beat museum typically they aren't too sure what it is referring to. Some people think it relates to beats the vegatable even though having a museum about a vegatable would be rather odd. Others think it might have to do with hip-hop beats, which would make more sense but in this case it is referring to an era of beat generation poets and writers. Particularly Jack Kerouac.
Originally Jerry wanted our help with working on his site Kerouac.com. Jerry had an inventory of books and other related merchandise that he wanted added to his web site. We earned his business and his trust after increasing his over all Internet sales through SEO and adding to his web capabilities in general. He then commissioned us to make two additional web sites, one for The Beat Museum itself, and one for The Beat Museum on Wheels a traveling exhibition that toured colleges and other places of education.
It is important to note the date on these web sites. These are early web sites and much of the styles and techniques that were involved in creating these types of layouts is considered archaic in web terms at the present time these sites could be in a museum of their own. WikiSoftPeople did all of the graphic design, layout, navigational bars and content for these two sites and the lengthy period of time they have been used to show case Jerry's museums shows the quality of our work.
