Century 21 Beachside

Century 21 Beachside Realtors

Project Date: March, 2009
Overview:
Century 21 Beachside Realtors came to our team and asked us for assistance.

They were looking for an automated system that would place forclosed houses in an intranet marketplace portal that could distinguish houses by zipcode, county, loan number, date and automatically or manually. sort them.
We first helped them secure the domain name that they wanted and set up the back end of the web site. We knew exactly what was needed because we had created a small beta tested version of what they were looking for when we presented our proposal to them.
They were looking for two layers for this marketplace. They wanted a regular user level for their managers and a superuser level for their corporate team. These different layers needed to be password protected and each needed to have different functionality.
The back end of the site uses a sql database and is written primarily in PHP, CSS, and javascript. There are several tables in the database. A zipcode search database was also implemented with all the zipcodes in Los Angeles, San Bernadino, Riverside, and Orange County. As new properties come in they are sorted into different categories according to their zipcode. All of this is read from the subject line. Because some of the inforamation is confidential a limited demonstration is offered here without the password protected pages and the multi-level user functionality

Email Pipe Scripting:

As mentioned the site needed to be partially automated. We created a program that would read subject lines for keywords and the body of emails to identify what kind of property was being put on the MLS market. This script also determines what stage the property is in, and what its price is set at. The script also filters by file number. As a current property's stage changes this becomes reflected in the marketplace as well if it comes up in an email again. The script then updates according to file number
an end user administrative portal was also added to the script to allow Corporate to add pictures, change prices on the fly, add descriptions and more.

In the marketplace itself users can sort the properties by stage or geographic region by changing the selector box in the top right or by clicking one of the geographic region category tabs at the top of the marketplace. A search box is also useful and can be used to search through the properties by their title or their loan number.
In order for all of this to work correctly we needed to lastly work with their IT team to make sure that emails from the MLS going to agents were forwarded not only to their agents but also filtered through our pipe scripting program.

Conclusion

Working closely with their team they are now functioning more efficiently and have an edge on their competition.
Good communication was crucial to the success of this project and Beachside is an excellent reference for us. They are in the works of adding even more modifications and functionality to this intranet site. If you have any questions or would like to see a full demo feel free to contact us at any time.
